IcyZip

QR paired text

Copy Text Between Phone and Computer

Pair two browser views with a QR code and use one shared live text field for links, codes, notes, and short instructions. No account, app install, email, or cloud folder setup.

IcyZip browser page showing a QR code before the shared live text field is connected
Scan the QR code from the other device. After the browsers connect, both sides use the same live text field.
  • Text first. Use the shared field for quick clipboard-style handoff between nearby devices.
  • Browser only. Works in modern phone and computer browsers without account login.
  • File optional. Send one selected file only when both browsers are connected.

How it works

Move text in three browser steps

IcyZip is built for the small moments where a link, code, address, note, or command needs to move between devices quickly.

Open IcyZip

Start on the device that should display the QR code.

Scan or open the link

Use the other device to scan the QR code or open the pairing link in its browser.

Paste and copy

Type or paste text into the shared field. The paired browser can copy it immediately.

Use cases

Useful for small cross-device text handoffs

Phone to computer

Move a link, note, address, or short code from a mobile browser to a laptop or desktop.

Computer to phone

Send a URL, setup instruction, command, or one-time note to a phone browser.

Tablet to laptop

Use a QR-paired browser session when copy/paste between ecosystems is awkward.

One selected file

Use the file action only when text is not enough and both browsers stay connected.

Privacy and limits

What is encrypted and what metadata remains

Current product browser clients encrypt live text in the browser before sending it through the service. The server relays encrypted data for the paired views and still processes operational metadata needed to run the session.

Shared live text field

The paired browsers keep one live text surface for quick handoff. A browser tab may keep its current text locally during that tab session.

Encrypted browser payloads

Current browser clients encrypt text before sending it through the service. The paired browser decrypts it.

Metadata remains visible

Timing, IP-derived country where configured, browser class, pairing activity, and message sizes may be visible to the service.

File transfer is optional

IcyZip is not a public file host, shared folder, file search, or offline pickup queue.

FAQ

Copy text between devices questions

How do I copy text from my phone to my computer?

Open IcyZip on the computer, scan the QR code with the phone, then paste text into the shared live text field. The computer browser can copy it immediately.

How do I send text from my computer to my phone?

Open IcyZip on the computer, scan the QR code with the phone, then type or paste text on the computer side. The phone browser receives the same text in the paired field.

Does IcyZip need a login?

No. IcyZip uses QR pairing instead of account login, email, or cloud-drive setup.

Is this a file-transfer page too?

The main workflow is text. If both browsers are connected, you can also send one selected file from either side.

What should I read before using sensitive text?

Read the privacy policy and the limits above. Current browser clients encrypt payloads, but connection metadata still exists.
